Ok here are my views.

I would only go for brands like Sparco or recaros. Simple fact is that they are TUV approave & have been tested for impact. In case on a collision it will also work to protect. You can find some local seats or taiwanese seats around but they never talk about safety. All they offer are looks. Light is good but how tough are the frame of the seat? You wouldnt want the seat to snap & puncture something when we are in an accident.

Food for thought. Its your safety so you can decide. i got a set of Sparco torino 2 for my E30 in leather & they look great. More thatn 2k each though.

I second what Alvin said.

I rather buy a 2nd hand seats and rewrap them, having the peace in mind that if anything happens, the seat wouldnt be the cause of it.

:D

Arrghhhh.... these were the exact same model i saw at kakimotor sunway over the weekend. Recaro NSR's right...?? I was quoted RM2099 per seat...

Damn.... talk about kena racun!! Nice one Nikazwaa...

bro that is not an NSR...

NSR has an additional pullout at ur thigh area juz like the mtec seats and the bucket nearby ur thigh area is lower (ideal for a big size person like me)...

SR3 is comfortable if u are of a medium build.

the pix looks like a SR3 as the SR4 has a more rounded top headrest..

yeap..u are right..i bought my pair of NSR's for around there :D

i thot u have sparco milano? those are not that light i think.. hows the weight of the torino?

Good point there Alvin.... reminds me of the Recaro advert where there was a crash-test-dummy sitting on a Recaro seat with the caption "My job is safer in this seat".... something like dat....

And thanx for that bit of clarification tombstone...

donald bro..how much is the racecraft one?

i feel the head rest portion is too large...

making it look slightly disproportionate..

juz my 2 cents.. (not flamming anybody here)

Bro, sorry I have no idea for the price, you may check with Marco.

just sharing my experience..

i've used sr3 in my e30 before n found them too wide..
the edges will touch n press the B pillar, the centre console n the door pocket..
this caused the seat to produce squeaking sounds due to the rubbing n the edge will deform a bit due to the pressure..

then i opted for n-joy (same model as proton putra's/gti's/mitsu gsr's)
better size n just the right look for a bmw..
once u wrapped them in matching leather, they would look very nice as if they are factory-fitted..

if money is not an issue, it would be a pair of koenig for my car hehhehehe...

thanks bob for sharing that bit of information...however i still feel it all depends on who made ur "tapak" or base. as the recaros have 6 screws below which holds the "ori" leg to the seat, placement of the width between these two can be adjusted at the floor pan (by creating additional mountings/brackets) ensuring perfect fitting.

ps : n-joys are so so only la bro as they tend to be semi sport(no grip on the shoulder area) and their fabrics tend to fade faster then others.

Bro
Hmmm.....I need to look at it again. You might be right.
The milano & torino are the same weight. Not the lightest seats around but its very good for support. Even long distance also not bad.

Frens, need advice:
Beside base frame and railing, what else should consider if decided to fix i.e Recaro?
Seat bypass?
Mine preface sedan local spec e46 (non electric seat)
