Hi all,My angel eyes are almost amberish and not so bright. Today I saw one e90 with a very bright almost whitish color angel eyes. Can we replace the angel eyes bulb to a brighter type? Or is it a kinda LED type that needs special installation? Thanks for any advice.

PM herbert or XXX u will get the answer. :4:

Discussed many times before la..

Yazmeen can do that for you, I think he did for Herbert too.

Basically install a ring of LEDs behind your current angel eye ring. Looks OEM.

According to Yazmeen, the front plastic cover of some ori Hella headlights cannot be opened so cannot install the LED angel eye. For everyone info, the LED angel eye for e39 can be purchase for RM220 from WRC Lamp at Sunway. Installation by Yazmeen's workman is another RM100. If you want your headlights to be polished, add another RM350.

No bro, to install the new ring of LEDs behind the angel eyes (really bright ones) you need to open the headlight to install it. New headlights manufactured from 2003 used a very strong epoxy and cannot be opened. Maybe come to Official TT tonight and see herbert's angel eyes if he comes.

If not mistaken, bro ay39 also got this super-bright LED angel eye, also pasang by kaki Yazmeen.

Bro, these super bright LEDs are more for decorative purposes la, like those Audi daytime running lights. Your dim headlights are a separate issue.

Bro, install the brighter angel eye is not much help in your issue la..

You should look for new adjusters and HID conversion kit for your headlight.

That's true. A friend bought a new pair of Hella originals and only lasted 2 years before the internal plastic adjusters broke and now he can't adjust his light further. He's thinking of buying a new set of headlights but looking for a different design as the original Hella design is very much dependable on the fragile plastics in these headlights.

Anyone tried aftermarket headlights and have good experience with it? I tried a pair of Taiwan headlights but wasn't satisfied with it due to the uneven light beam even though with adjustments.

There are repair kits for headlight adjusters. Available for both pre-facelift and facelift.

That headlight is still repairable. There are ways that you can change the adjuster without opening the headlight. Few people on this forum knows how to do it.

Don't la use the Taiwan headlight..boh sui la..

As seewai said, u can replace the adjuster and polish the cover. Anytime better than Taiwan headlight.

I tried not to use Taiwan headlight, memang boh sui, but boh pian...

If you guys know of a way on how to replace the adjusters without opening the headlight, please please share it.
The epoxy glue for the new batch of lights are really indestructible even with baking at high temps.

There are 2 forumers that able to replace the adjusters without open the cover, but they hide their kungfu, so u have to pay them for labor. :(

I opened my headlight before by 'force', clean inside-out and replaed the adjusters too.

Epoxy cannot be softened with heat la. The older ones use a black silicone goop which will soften when heated.

Here's the guide to do it without opening the light:
