Vanos Failure

Guys,

I plan to purchase the vanos seal from Beisan. Anyone is interested for a group buy?? You can obtain product details and pricing from www.beisansystems.com.

Do u survey what is the market price here? Any big diff?

None of the spare parts shop in KL and PJ areas (have contacted 15 shops) carried Beisan vanos seals. Bavarian Auto Works at Kayu Ara import Beisan seals but they won't just sell you seals. They quoted me RM900 to replace the vanos seals.

they offer complete rebuilt for USD$250 + 150 (core charges)
core charges are refundable when u send back ur original vanos to them

would this method be more reliable/cost-effective ?

USD 250 works out to RM 900 (@3.60 exchange rate) excluding freight charges. Then you will still need a mechanic to install the complete vanos unit which may cost another RM 150 for labour charges. So i think it is rather expensive.

I need at least 10 people for group purchase from Beisan otherwise it may not be worth the while. E46 can also join the group purchase as E39 share the same engine.

how much is the freight charges from beisansystems? buy in 10 will be cheaper alot?

No ptoblem with my ride below 3K and don't have sound of truck. Let us meet up and compare our ride.

I am checking with Beisan on courier charges and discount for 10 sets.
