How do I describe it. It happened lately when the rear left tyre hit uneven road surface such as hole or those yellow marking at Subang Airport. It sound like the exhaust touching the undercarriage but when I lift the car and try to shake the exhaust up and down, it did'nt happen (maybe I'm not that strong)Anybody experienced this b4. Pls advise me how to rectify this problem.Comments, help or what ever are very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Most likely rear absorber mounting (top). Also possibly the sub-frame bush if you haven't replaced it in the last 10 years ...... :D Both parts are cheap. Labor for the former is also cheap & easy, but the latter is a half day job .... :(

Good luck.

Thanks Alvin, will do.

Koryong,

I already check the absorber mounting when i changed the absorber and spring. The subframe bushing I didn't change when i converted to disk brake. But I'll check this two again.

Is it enough by hoisting the car up and shaking those related part by hand will tell me the damage part? Thanks

also do check the centremount bearing(driveshaft) coz i had a similar symptom and just fixed it today.but i had to change the whole propshaft!
but it was a good deal so i'm a happy camper! :yahoo:
let us know wht it is ok?
regards,
-brad-

Thanks Tyke,

Last Saturday, when to see a mechanic and he told me that the exhaust touching the body, and yesterday when to see an "exhaust specialist" (that what's written on their sign board) and he said nothing wrong with the exhaust.

So, yesterday afternoon, left the car at workshop and ask him to check the drive draft. Hope this will settle the problem.

Again thanks a lot guys. I'll let you know the out come.

Tyke, is it those 2 drive shaft or the long shaft?

most propably its ur couplings on ur longshaft/propshaft or it could b ur centremount bearing.only way to tell is to hoist the car up,try to shake the shafts nearer to the couplings and if it rattles or there is too much freeplay then u better get them to change them.
btw...its the two longshafts/driveshafts(i'm getting confused now... whts the diff between long/drive shaft?aint tht the same?
either way...just check these items out yeah?keep us updated.

brad
