Guys i m currently using 17inch with 215. But i found is not fat enough can i fit in 225 with lowered eibach spring stock absorber??

No problem. I'm on 225/17/45. Just nice.....not sure if you can go 235 though. Better check with some of the rubber gurus here.

i'm using 225/18...ok lor.bought already 235/18 for my rear tyres.

If going for 235, wouldn't that scrape against the back fender?
No it won't unless the rims offset are wrong. I'm using them with standard camber angles.

I am on 245/40 on all four corners.
Fronts rub a bit, but no clearance issues on the back.
Same sizes that Dinan runs on their least powerfull M3 E36 conversion.

but isit advisable rear fatter than front ?

like Mont-o
I am using rear 235/18/40 and front 225/18/40..No problem so far

i'm running 245/40 17 all around.
Rears no rubbing issues.
Front will only rub the inner fender liner when wheel is full lock.

But check your wheel offset, that can play a huge part.

My wheels are 17x8 41mm offset.
Previous wheels 17x8 38mm offset.

Neither had issues.

If you go for bigger tyres at the rear, i suggest u should be on staggered rims.
Proper fitment for 17x7.5 is 215/45/17 and 17x8 is 225/45/17. Some brands of tyres may look wider than others. Go shop around.

Well, on his 240bhp M3 version, Dinan says this combo works the best.
On his other cars, with a bit more bhp, he uses a staggered system.
Since my 328 isn't so powerful, i have kept to his recommendation.

Never heard of it before that rear tyres fatter than front do contribute anything ?

Sifu's need your advise... True Is It ?

bmw has a part that fits inbetween the steering rack and tie rods for the E36 setup, this part is also called the offset bush

this will allow larger width tyres to fit in ,p.n.
32 111 140 464

this part is a standard part in the M3 setup......

hi guys....

i use 225/40/18 front and 235/40/18 rear for my previous E36 325.

greetings mates,

I'm currently running on 18" wheels with 235/40 profile rubbers all round.

The question that I'd like to post is whether it would be possible for me to convert from 235/40 profile tyres to the 225/45 ones.

Kindly enlighten me folks. TIA

This is an old thread but I would like to know what is the most prefered sport rim size for E36 328.

Is it 18" or 17" rims? Adviced from experienced owner is really appreciated.

For 17" 215/45x17 , 225/45x17 , 235/45x17 (for rear)

For 18" 225/40x18 , 235/40x18 , 245/40x18 (for rear)

for any other size and spec can fit for E36..pls list down for other owner study..

225/40/18 - safest for me... can lowered kao2 ;)

235 rear had tiny bit scrubbing wt heavy load, single driver okies..

I think the ideal size for an e36 is 17". 18" is pushing it and 19" is just ridiculous.

Get an ///M wheel
