Turn indicator front right failure. Got this error 2 days ago when putting right signal.
My front right signal light wont light up anymore. Called up a few sparepart shops and lighting shop and all told me to change the signal light module control(board).

Is there an alternative since this part alone is RM700++ excluding labour?

BTW mine is E90 LCI.

Are you sure it isn't just a blown bulb or have you replaced a new bulb and still no light?

Had the same problem twice with the rear signal. Managed to fix it by changing a new bulb. Second time, just tighten the wire joints thingy.

The LCI is a LED cluster for the turn signal. No chance of changing the bulbs, it's the turn cluster module that needs to be changed if that's the case

Im sorry, confused with my own problem. Haha
First my problem started from the rear right brake light. After changing the bulb at the workshop, i got rear signal warning on my way back home. Called the mech n he asked to tighten some wire in the boot area. It fixed perfectly.
Less than a month, my rear right brake light blown once again. The same thing happened again, after changing the bulb, it gave me signal warning. Fixed by tightening the wire.

Ps: i think i should start a new thread about why my brake light kaput in less than a month.

ahshawn is right, it is the whole LED module. After calling to a few spare part shops and lighting shops, my signal light is back to normal. Im guessing there is something wrong with the wiring but will continue to monitor it to see if fixes is required.

for brake light failure with tungsten bulbs, i had the same problem too. turned out it was just a faulty set of Wurth bulbs...that blew out after swapping out twice! (imagine my luck, i was so convinced it was my wiring or godknowswhatelse). just swapped it out for normal cikai tungsten bulbs for RM5 apiece and has lasted me for 1 year plus since.

In any case, my mechanic advised me to do my own self diagnosis as best i can to determine if is it the bulb or something else:
1. check wiring harness into bulb cluster for any melting or exposed wiring (that could be cause of shorting)
2. check bulb fit in socket, it should not be loose (loose bulbs cause the filament to excessively shake and prematurely burn out). it could also indicate that the bulb is not touching the socket base properly, again causing shorting
3. check the socket base for any burn marks or melting of plastic socket (like no.2, an indication of loose connection causing overheating and damage of socket or excessive line voltage)
4. last diagnosis if 1-3 is not present is to get a voltmeter and check the line voltage of the socket if it exceeds 12v, excessive line voltage can cause overheating
5. or it could be like my case with damn bad luck with QC failed bulbs

Thanks for the long reply ahshawn. New input for me. Self diagnosis should be done before going to the workshop. Save time, save money.
