would anyone know as per the factory recommendation in km not practical application, how long would we travel until we need to change the whole transmission for the car?or the transmission have no end of life and we do not change it until it breaks down by the roadside?

Auto gboxes for UDMs have an ideal lifespan of between 150000km - 200000km, but this depends on the maintenance schedule, driving style, etc. After that, off to overhaul la.

please change transmission oil every 60,000km.better change together with filter...before this german guy said the ATF is lifetime but we must remember, the gear inside transmission always moving,so it will produce some metal chip from clutch and brake inside the transmission bcoz the friction..what happen if we never change the oil?hehe.... it will kill your transmission slowly... my 5sens advice, change every 60,000.

160k km is the recommended life span for BMW transmission.. no need to replace ATF..

so if we always use our lovely bmw for long distance travel,1year can go up to 80,000 km.every time 3years can go up to 250,000km.so every 3years must change new transmission? hmm....
