Forgot to mention, also do a pressure test. You will need some special tools secured over the radiator cap. Apply pressure via a hand held pump. If there is a leak, you will see coolant seeping out. Otherwsie, take a torchlight and carefully scan through all the hoses especially at the joint areas. Check the water jackets core plugs too and also the water pump area. Tell tales signs of leakage is a streak of yellow/brownish stains.

check at the water pump housing... look for tell tale water marks..

when was the last time you change the pump?

or is your thermostat housing the plastic type ? get it check up ..
could look brittle..

Usually the pump shaft will start to have some free movement after 70Kms and the seals will sart to harden after 7 years. Get it replace if you still have not done so.

"Bleeding" process, do it with engine on or off?
method is use to bleed taught by my sifusss & from my experience

for my e34 , m20, loose the bleed screw on the side tank. fill water/kulant till water sip out from bleedscrew hole. put more water in till u c no more bubble/air escape. nxt: blow from ur mouth ( yeah blow job the side tank now... :p ) at the refill hole till all u c is water come out of the bleed screw hole.add water when necessary...when no more bubble, tighten the bleed screw.

keep refill water to ur radiator and start losing ur thermostat bleedscrew. keep refill till all air force out from ur system. tighten the bleedscrew. start engine for 2-3 minutes. loose the bleedscrew again and c if air still coming out from the system. if not ur bleed process is completed.
good luck :eek:k:
