My buddy owned e46 318 1.9 year 2001 (secondhand) the top speed is only reach 160km. Maluuu oooo...kelisa punya asap pun makan. So sifu out there plez help.. :wink: :beaten: why cannot the car cannot lariiithank u

change to a lower ratio rear differential will defitenitely save your face from a kelisa :nyehehe:

well to begin with, the kelisa is not a slouch.

it's 1000cc packed in a 800kg shell

even my once vtec car had to 'open' vtec to catch one of these pocket mercun rocket.

Ada betoii ka kawan.....160 only ahh....try servicing your AFM....last time mine sangkut at 75% opening and only can manage to 130...now... tak payah cakap... still i'm a cool slow driver...don't tempt me.... trunk road M3 pun wua kejarpunya... highway kalah larr.

when mine was on 15" top speed is about 200+kmh, cannot over 210....

now on 18" top is 190+kmh...

Hi all, speaking of being malu, was being cucuk by a wira behind my back at 150km/h and the bloody wira just overtook me like there is no hassle at all. Dunno lah, maybe me not so expert driver and lady oso, kena buli lah. Btw, all experts, all taikos, me driving with a 16" tyres and rims, isit advisable to change to bigger tyres, considering speed is not my priority, but rather just wanting it to look bit fierce lah....please advise what are the negatives and positives as to changing into some bigger tyres???

Hrm...160kmh only??? Cant be lar.Something is wrong. My E36 can reach 190kmh ler.Maybe slightly slightly a little bit more if got more road but dont wanna push it lar.Old car already lar.

Well I have never experienced that b4. with 15" stock I can take it to about 200km/h but the car starts to shake. Now I use an 18" rim 235/40/18 tyres I can still maintain above 180km/h if I floor it. I get to test out my car every week cause I work in JB. I get to JB normally under 2hours if I dont stop.

I have reached 215 km/h on my N42 2.0L 318 on 18" Wheels.....

I have a friend who has the 1.9L 318i on 18" who has done 190 km/h. But you need road cos of the tall gear ratio on the 4 speed auto box....

now... i can only do..170km.h with 19 inches hamann rims..

My friend used to have this car (sorry, I can't reveal the marque) which she pampered very much - the car was hardly driven and then only very gently and at the legal limit at all times. The car was also largely driven only in urban areas. When I drove her car one day, I was shocked that it could not exceed 110km/h!!

Perhaps the conclusion that can be drawn from my friend's experience is this: Don't pamper the car too much. Every now and then, it's good to exercise the car by giving it a good high speed thrashing on the highway; this will blow away the cobwebs (or should I say clear the car's lungs and bowels) and perhaps will help the car to consistently achieve its manufacturer-quoted top speed which, in the case of the E46 318i 1.9, should be in the region of 200km/h.

Hell, even my family runabout, a lowly Proton Iswara 1.3, can hit 160km/h! And, yes, I "cane" that car quite often; which is probably why it is so healthy!
