Guys n gals, Question to those who had already adapted an i-POD to their standard/factory ICE system (or even an aftermarket). Also, for those who is planning to do this, what are your comments, what have you found out so far? I am currently toying with the idea to have this done to my ride (an E46 pre facelift model) and came accross this product from mp3yourcar.com. Has any of you out there had the experience doing this? Any comments or suggestions? Is this the real deal? Below is an excerpt from the site: 50113 - Neo iOn SP - For NAV and NON-NAV vehicles BMW: 3-series/M3 : 1996 - 2006 This adapter connects the iPod to the BMW 3-series/M3's factory radio. Full quality audio and controls for your iPod - easy installation! For vehicles WITH Factory GPS/Navigation. $199.99 USD
Appreciate views and comments/suggestions from ICE sifus...

Not sure if its relevant but I am using the sony HU with a aux in on the faceplate. So, I'm not limited to only using the ipod. Only thing is, you can;t control the external device from the HU... and the HU may not meet the standards required by ICE sifus....not exactly top end unit... :)

i got the ori set up (bmw) and nanoed it. the steering controls the music too. the nano goes into glove compartment. no artist/title on hu. got the interface from evisuzuki.. i think you can ask him to arrange for you 700 bucks. then you go to kampung baru to pasang 80 bucks.

Hi andrewk,

Thanks for your post. Would you please tell me more on the adaptor you are using - like brand, $$ etc. Thanks bro.

Bro guru, thanks for the info.

My ride is an E46 Ci pre facelift (1999). Would like to know the following from you:
  • What was your ori set up (BMW) that you mentioned in your reply {radio & CD [DVD?] player?}
  • What is/are part number/s
  • How much was it retailing for
  • Where did you purchase it
  • Would your set up be compatible with my ride (what is your ride if I may ask)
  • What is the brand name of the interface/adaptor
  • Any comments before I take this plunge...
I would like to go with your path (set up) - as it seems to be the more logical and less hassle. Appreciate your response and will read the thread that bro omegaoracle mentioned. Hope to make this 'upgrade' the least painful...

Bro fire,

Thanks for the suggestions. Will look into this option too. BTW, how much is the GTA 475 amp retailing?

cost ard RM800..there is GTA27X (2 channel) cost ard RM400 but only 1 aux port. Advantage is since it is direct Aux to Amp signal & sound quality will be better. 2. got local support. Disadvantage - can't control from yr HU but is not really a big problem. you can try EAS Dice for Ipod..cost RM809.40 to reach Malaysia..but if spoilt, it will difficult to claim warranty...

black cat bro, your player does not support the ipod interface. you need a 02' and up bmw for this.

another option- check out alpine's interface. alpine(i heard) makes it for bmw, so i think there is a solution for you there.

if you can't find an alpine dealer, there is one in kg.baru. between naza and the mosque on the right. there also got sport rims so you can't miss it.

To all,

Thank you for all the info... I will post any developments on this 'upgrade'.
