I'm planning to change my dampers because I can't tolerate the current suspension setup anymore. Heard some good things about Titan shocks and that is my preference over Koni or Bilsteins. I would really appreciate some comments on these shocks from anyone running them now, or have experience using it. Some indication of price will also be great. Thanks in advance! :top:

Where do I begin.....
Having used Titan's on my 38, they are great and do a wonderful job. But what are u aiming for? Comfort or handling or cosmetics. If u go the Titan route, they dont make adjustables for E36...so it will be standard set up and use your ori or aftermarket springs. If u go coilovers, u can do virtually any setting and ride height u like. I have tried Titan, B12 and KW set up on my cars.....recently I moved to Hotbits on my 36. I find them awesome and they handle well. Only problem is, Speedworks who manufacture and install the Hotbits are super annoying and IMHO don't know what the hell they are doing as they are staffed by young feng tau wannabe dancers messing around with Powertools....very annoying. Apart from that, i rate their coilovers as a BUY. Hotbits will set you back between 3.5k - 4.6k dependent on what settings and model you choose. Titan's will set you back around 3.2k, but no adjustable hi/lo

Thanks for the reply bro, my priority will be comfort and handling, not so much on how low can it go. I currently have some really soft Bilsteins (B4?) with Eibach lowering springs, horrible, horrible ride and it is really getting on my nerves. Very bumpy over undulations and rolls like a yacht in corners.

I always try different set ups to land on what keeps me happiest. Based on your requirements, you will not go wrong with a B12 set up, will cost u around 3.2k now. No adjustments etc needed...just fit and ride.....Koni's etc will leak la bro...not built to handle heavier cars IMHO

I have Titans on my E36 328i, cost 2.6K for the absorbers and 600 for the mountings. Total damage = 3.2K. Have been using it for about 3-4 months and I must say it rides well. However it might be me with priorities changing and itchy to try other brands, might sell off the Titans. I want more aggressive setup. Let see how it goes.

The good thing with hi/lo/soft/hard is that you get to adjust this to any setting you like incl ride height by a turn of the knob which is compensated by spring rate hi/lo adjustment. I love it, but it may not be everyone's cup of tea.....
You can have this same setting as long as you are driving a 6 potter 36

the refurbish hotbits ...still can tell anything about it yet ...cuz the heart is not there yet
apparently those are DT1 from speedworks .... the 1st early model they had ...unlike ssman's setting which has got a cannister ( soft / hard ) and a retainer spring for the front set up

Bro iceman, how much does the Koni Yellows for 325 cost?
I had them on my previous car for a short while and thought they were reasonably good compared to stock, what are you comparing your Koni to?
But the ability to have Titan/Hotbits valve the damping to match whatever springs rates I eventually choose is quite attractive, and should be a better match than an off the shelve item matched with another off the shelve spring set :biggrin:

as for the spring rates ..if not mistaken the hotbits are ranging from 400~450 for the fronts .."if not mistaken" but that range would be good enough to hold you down on the wavey road of malaysia ... all i would say that the adjustables could get you to the desired height and the setting of your liking ..

I have hotbits on my rx8 d last 7 years n i dont like them. I have tried numerous settings n they still feel floaty. N speedworks do suck. I fully agree with ssmann. Recently changed d absorbers in my e92 to b6 adjustables, using d old springs. Setting from 1 soft to 10 hard. Cost rm4k from autofuture. They quoted me rm 3600 for b12 but i opted 4 d b6. Allan d boss is nice guy n very informative.IMO dont get hotbits. My 2 cents.
