I think most of us appreciate it..

BTW, is the automobile insurance the only insurance industry that is "losing money" due to excessive claim against premiun collected?

Nope, the other money loser is health insurance. Medical inflation is so high that premium increases can never catch up. Also doctors are hard to handle - we call then professional workshops because they are like motor workshop but highly trained to work on human bodies instead. You cannot argue or negotiate with them because they will ask you a question - are you the doctor or am I the doctor. They run a 2 tier scheme so to speak - cheaper one for people who does not have a health insurance policy and at least 30% more if there is a health insurance policy.
But of course not all doctors are like that - there are some good ones who are fair.

To be fair to the doctors, I find that some doctor do give a compassionate discount when you do ask for it. However, in most case, the doctor bill is only a small percentage of the total bill. Most of the charges are usually the facility used and charged by the medical centre. eg.. you are charge for a box of hand gloves even though one pair is used.

BTW, why the 2 tiers scheme charged by the doctor? It is because the payment by the insurance company takes a longer time.
