The financial difficulties of Nurburging has been in the news for the past year and the threat of bankruptcy is evident. Officially, the famous Ring is now up for sale, as reported by BridgeToGantry. The highest bidder will be able to purchase the race track and its lock, stock and carousel, according to Jens Lieser, the state-appointed liquidator. It is yet known if the whole racing park will be sold in parts or not. Sources say that there are between 5 and 10 serious buyers already. The official price has not been disclosed to the public but rumors give a figure of only €125 million for the whole thing. Read more on this topic and an interesting Q&A with the man behind the Save the Ring movement, Mike Frison on BridgeToGantry.

If a private buyer decided to buy it, are manufacturers still allowed to have tests on their cars on the track? :motz:

Of course. For a fee. :)

Last time it was euro75 for 4 laps. They give like a touch n go card.
