In my opinion, it would suffice to say that you ought to insist that your car is attended to by Naidu personally. You are paying for HIS personal expertise and so make sure you get just that. Lee36328 would know what I mean.

Well, there is only one Naidu in town.

Hands-on skills and the experienced eye do not transfer easily to any assistants.

Bear that in mind.

Dis wan is a common problem with SMIs, that's y they are what they are, so kennot expect Ritz Carlton svc or FedEx efficiency lo!
Becuz of their nature SMI owners among others things, also face problem with maintaining consistent service delivery standards, it's up to us customers to become aware of the risks when we buy our services from SMIs. :)

went to naidu's this afternoon....fix my aircond problem within 2 hour...he just change the resistor of my aircond...he claim this is a normal problem for e46....by the way....i'm happy with the services and charges.....

**credit to lee36328,thanks for point me.....

he just change the resistor of my aircond...he charge rm 290 for resistor + rm 60 for the labour...

Yup, kinda agree with evasuzuki there..

My e36 also has this leaking problem. naidu use a special probe (morelike a gas detector/sensor) which will give a beeping sound to indicate any gas leaking. After 5 minutes Naidu could detect thare was a small leak under the steering.

So, to make long story short, all my dashboard / meter/ everything was removed to fix the leaking part. It is a must to remove the whole dash board for e36 i was told..

Thus, the repair bill came up to :

- cooling coil RM390
-Receiver.dryer RM 190
- expansion valve RM 140
- dashboard sponge RM 80
- microfilter RM 60
- top up gas RM 60
- O ring RM 18
-Labor RM 300

Total : RM 1238 Pheeewww..

But the acond is as good as new man, very cold, can challenge any proton acond.. haha

p/s evisuzuki - what time your car completed? forgot to ask you
where you do the wheel arches man.. mind to PM me.. NICE car you have there !

i complete my car about hour after i went to have some drink...thanks 4 the compliment....u got pm bro...

I have to add this.Went to him 1 month back due a/c not cold.He changed the receiver drier and flushed the system and recharged.after that the a/c ok & cold.1 week after, the compressor belt started to squeak.i had a look at the compressor and found the compressor mount hole was cracked.upon compressor removal(went back to him)it turned out the mount hole is part of the cmpressor body and cannot be fixed, requiring a new compressor.and guess what....he changed the whole compressor with a NEW unit for rm350 ALL IN.can you beat that...

What time naidu start his business? Cash pay or credit card accepted?
I'm planning to stop by at Naidu to check my compressor while on my way from Penang to Melaka tomorrow. My mech in Penang can't fix-up my compressor.

Dear All,

When I increase the temperature setting say from 20 to 22, I experience hot oil coming out from the bottom air vent i.e. located near the brake pedal. When I reduce the temperature setting, the hot air will stop and cold air will be coming out. Is this normal ? Otherwise, what could be wrong ?? Please help !!!

Hot oil? I think you mean hot air.

I don't think it's normal for hot air to come out of certain vents and cold air from the other vents. Could be:

1. Heater valve problem; and/or
2. Heater coil problem; and/or
3. Insufficient aircon gas

A typical and cheap but inelegant fix would be to disconnect the heater (accompanied by the aircon man saying "Malaysia manyak panas tak payah heater lah") but if you do that your aircon will be at maximum coldness - the aircon needs the heater to enable the temperature to be controlled/moderated.

My suggestion would be to send your car to Naidu or Jeffry of M1 Kayu Ara. They understand the BMW airconditioning system well enough not to resort to disconnecting the heater in order to rectify airconditioning problems.

yupe I meant hot air! As a matter of fact, I changed the heater valve and filled up the aircon gas as well about a month ago and it worked well since then. At that time, not only hot air coming out from bottom vent but the air coming out from top vents also not so cold although it was not hot.
Now, about one month later, the air at top vent is still cold, only the bottom vents emit hot air as described earlier.
By the way, can anyone PM me Naidu's contact number? Thanks in advance!

naidu's the man

the famous air-cond man of Jln Gasing has broadened his repertoire - now servicing engine. he's got a new worker who used to be tamil selvam's hire. and it's this young man who doing the engine service.

naidu is quite the innovator......he gets a puchong machinist to make him the air-cond belt tensioner since 3 years back. supplies them to M-speed also. he says his tensioner lasts and u can actually adjust the belt tension if it slackens, a feature he says is absent in the original.

Naidu can fit most of the car model........send my Peugeot 206 today cos the aircond is not cold.........The Peugeot specialist claimed is cooling coil koyak n need to replace it ....cost >1K........So just send the car to Naidu ....guess wat happend????????

Naidu just took 1 min to solve the problem....found out one of the oring is missing ......add one on n refill the gas .......now aircond is cold like new .......Just cost RM50.........Good job......
