A suggestion to add on to Mr. President's announcement on Archiving, perhaps a clean up of the Classified section is in order also. There are some items for sale or to buy that dates back to December 2004.

In line w DD's message above, as a first step, the classifieds has been cleaned of any threads where the last post is more than 180 days old.

SUGGESTION for "Your Shots & Not Your Shots" Section.

On posting pictures, can we please have a "classification" in the Subject Thread along the lines of :-

1. NWS = NOT WORK SAFE
2. WS = WORK SAFE

Atleast this way, those who use the forum/website in the office arent going to end up accidently opening threads of pics which arent "work friendly".... esp needed due to recent Work Place Regulations released by the govt.

Cheers.

That's a good feedback. Ever thought of practising just a bit of self moderation when posting non-work safe pictures onto this bmw car forum which is established to promote the brand and assist members in matters of bmw??

In addition, please read the rules:

The following types of postings are cause for immediate post removal, warning, forum and/or Site suspension, termination of your registration and/or such other actions as we deem fit in our sole discretion. This list is not exhaustive and you are advised to refer to and read the User Agreement.

1.Posting contact or personal information about another individual without permission.

2.Posting material containing profanity, vulgarity, hate speech, or threats of violence.

3.Posting material (graphic or text) that is obscene, pornographic or adult in nature.

4.Posting material (graphic or text) that is politically and religiously sensitive in nature.

5.Using JavaScript, active or other coding, making repetitive posts, or other actions that interfere with site operations.

6.Starting any inappropriate threads in the forum/public areas.

BB,

Three points:-

1. There is a "Shots" and "Not Your Shots" section.... which implies pictures are going to be posted.

2. There are times when pictures of cars will have models (male or/and female) in them.... esp true when posting pictures from the car shows (both international and local) an eg. being SEMA etc

3. If Self-Moderation was actually practiced, there wouldnt be a need for Moderators.

...Still think the NWS and WS rating should be implemented/encouraged esp since re-posting pictures from other foreign hosted websites is the norm on any car forum.

Cheers!

Any posting with pictures in it, be it of models or cars, etc, cannot be considered work-safe, unless you happen to be working in an environment where photos are the staple, eg. advertising agencies etc.

Perhaps there could be an icon to show that there are photos in the posting to be displayed on the index pages.

Dear popeadrian,

Please call me betty.

The forum policy stated has adequately covered the posting of pictures. Self moderation must always be practiced, regardless of moderators, just like manners and commonsense. That's why we have rules in the first place. Else, this will be a reckless and lawless place which I frankly do not think BMW owners come accross as. I hope you can see it from this point of view.

And I thought the title of the thread is Suggestions for Additional Clean Up of the forum.

cleaning is done when needed.....believe me it is the most frequent part of the job. On average it is done about every 3 months.
