Tuan-tuan, I have posted my problems earlier on the steering vibrates during braking at high speed and now solved by changing the disc rotor but another problem come up after changing my rims. Recently, I have changed my rims with the same size i.e. 17"and all the culprits suspected causing the vibrates on steering has been changed or checked as advised by mechanic i.e. 1) Lower arm bush 2) suspension/absorber 3) engine mounting4) balancing and alignment at 3 different places5) Centric hub measured and need not to add coneBut the steering still vibrates once reach to 90km/h. I wish sifu out there can advise me further what to check or do next as i'm running out of idea already.

1. have you performed off-wheel balancing?
2. what are the condition of your tyres, are they new?
3. are you certain these new rims are not bent?
4. try putting back the old rims and see if vibration go away.

Mizhan, I think you means ON-wheel balancing which is more accurate to 5 grams.

Mizhan is correct. I believe it could be your new rims. Even a few mm differences in rim centre hub will caused the vibrations. BMW is very sensitive to this so it's always advisable to go for original rims for that particular model. Try not to re-bore the rims to fit the centre hub.

Hassnur,

I have experienced this before on my E90 after changed to new rims and tires.Done on-wheel balancing but the problems are still there but minimize. Finally found out that my front tires are defective and changed to new tire and problem solved. You may bring your car for on-wheel balancing and the tire shop should be able to check your tire condition during on-wheel balancing process.

p/s- some tire shop advise me to use a premium tires since some of 18" tires they claim are not suitable with BMW characterisic and sensitivity since the car was design with a precision in mind.

Mizhan

1. OFF-wheel balancing : not available in Sabah
2. Tire : used but condition look ok
3. Yes, as confirmed by tire shop the rims is not bent
4. Putting back old rims : vibration is still felt but not too bad

Are the wheel bearing can caused the vibration as well?
