Steering Problem for e46

hi guys,Everytime when im on rough road or speed bumps the steering column will have some vibration or knocking sound. Wish i could explain in further. Already change the front lower arm bushing to powerflex and problem still persist. Would it be the ball joint has worn out? Haa anyone experience this before...if this is the problem it would be a cheaper solution.
