Hi,I have discover this very low "glok" "glok" sound from the steering.Whenever i drive very very slowly and by turning the steering to the left or right the sound will be appear. Especially at the car park while searching for parking lot.Any thinker to share.....ThanksCheers

Thank you for sharing, will check on the steering rack.
But the sound are not from the drive shaft it came from the steering area.
Use computer software to check, no problem detected

BMW do not hv drive shaft upfront. There are many part that can contribute to the sound ie arm, link, tie rod. ball joint & bushes. Mechanical issue cannot be detected thru computer diagnostic
Better get the car jack up and check by mechanic to troubleshoot the sound.

Bro,

wish me luck.......btw what would be the damage ?

No less than RM 8k. Did your Active Steering Inactive appear on the i-Drive?

I think your is more on mechanical issue no worry as u hv diagnose it before.

Hi Ericer,

Did you have it looked at?
What's the diagnosis?
I ask as mine is making the same sounds, noticeable only when steering turned almost at full lock.

I sent to AMG for trouble shoot for almost a day. They responded by upgrading to the latest software and ask me to drive it for a while. Will update u of the status soon......

I had the same symtom as described by ericer. The problem solved with some lubricant on the steering firewall. Done by Ingress.

Hi all, Im having similar problem getting more serious as i can hear the sound when i turn my steering especially parking. Besides, my i-drive sometimes it shows active steering inactive and the steering become super hard like driving lorry but when i move further or drive a while longer the steering becomes back to normal and idrive alert disappeared as well. Steering rack? Arm? Bushes? Whats the damage like? Any bros here repaired or changed before? Any recommended workshop in PJ area? Thanks in advance! :top:

I'm having the same problem and I know a few owners are experiencing the same thing too. I was told it's the steering rack and the damages are no less than RM 5k. Thus, I'm living with it..............and pray every time when the "Active Steering Inactive message" appeared.

Any permanent solution is much appreciated instead of "praying"?
