Speed trap detector

would like to know whether speed trap detector is useful or not on malaysia's highway etc??? anyone have any experience in that???

I use it. It is useful, but depends on what speed you are doing. If you're doing 130-140 then it is possible to slow down suddenly to 110-120, but if you're doing 180-200 there's no point, but at least you know whats coming.

read from the internet, thats the problem for older generation of detector... now days the newer model has stealth ability...

I saw one penguin under the flyover on the highway facing me (which mean the speed trap gun is pointing at my car, was doing 120 to 130 la, because the car in front of me slows down too), was wondering he is actually taking photos of which lane... also i can virtually see him from quite far away, so i was wondering whether the speed trap detector works in these situation...

I buy one from HK, brand - Beltronic. Which is advertise in the magazine of Option. Made in US. Invisible in front of the speed trap detector(Mean the speed trap detector can't detect the Beltronic detector. I use quite often when driving back to my hometown. So far still no summon send to me.

cops here use laser and not radar. i can tell you this as my valentine tells me what is being pointed at my car.
and when the laser hits you, it immediately registers your speed. so, no point getting a detector.
all it will do is to tell you, you have been busted.
would let you try it out, but i gave mine to my freind who lives in the states where there are more radar than laser detectors.

save your cash and dont buy one, just drive slower and safer.

Or you can download speed trap locations for your Garmin GPS and it will alert you when you approach that area.

guys, check today's star paper. Now they have HD detector and can usedit up to 1.2km. So by the time u see it, too late already. Somemore it can capture speed up to 320kph. Dun think any of us has a car or balls to drive that fast
