Speed Limited (speed cut) for Japan Spec car

Is there a speed cut for any Jap specs car ie E60/E90 ? I am planning to get the E60 (Jap specs) - but worried that there might be a speed cut . My current Jap specs E39 530i is limited to 210kmh (5,000 rpm) only. Any ideas/experience from anyone ?:rock:

I've pushed to 210km/h before. I thought speed cut is at 180km/h for Jap cars...

dunno about newer cars, but my E46 jap-spec can do about 240 before it runs out of steam.

ah foo gave me anumber to call a tuning guy but the cant reach at all..any other suggestions are welcome..i've tried remap but no difference..its my e39...my 46 can touch 240kmph

John - i can only bypass the 210kmh after changing the ECU , EWS and keys to the non-JP specs.

I hv tried Singapore and AA tuner. They can 'unlock' the top speed (250kmh) but not the limiter.

I download the mapping from AA and install it in my ecu. Put the car on the hoist and see the speedometer hitting 250kmh ++ .

Took the car to LEKAS - but still cannot break the 210 kmh limit. The ecu reads from all 4 wheels and the rear diff.

Try switching off your ASC and see whther u can go beyond 210kmh.

The question now is, if E60 has the same issues. If Yes, gua surrender mau angkat JP specs.

hmmm.....unker, i tell u what la. we tukar sama tukar la. my car got no speed limiter, 26Xkmh on mex highway with 1k rpm to go. handling will put the hair back on your chest. hehehe.....

Yes some e60 does have speed limitter according to sifu..and he even had a problem with half cut 4.0 from japan. Had to order an ecu from germany and problem solved..btw, I uunderstand ecu but why change the keys, ews and all??

I never thought of switching off ASC..will try..btw, when its 210, my rpm is 4400

Did mine in BVO , Singaland.

ishhh .. problem betul laaa ini Jap specs. Dun even talk abt the GPS, Radio, JP 'smart-tag' ....

i think i'll get either the CKD or UK specs.

i remmeber some of our forumers had jap spec e60's who installed supercharged kits, who had issues with tuning when sent back to the principal. EU and JAP had compatibility issues.

my remap was done by bernard as well but my top speed issue persists..if you get an ecu, I'm sure you can code it with the egs and ews right!

hahaha..I had the jap smart tag too but removed it...doesnt work but the design is superb unlike our caplang one..I wish they came out with the remote transmitter..so convenient!

In EU we have speedcut at 250km/h but my friend can get up to 260km/h with 320i (unlocked) so you should get 270, 280 maybe 300khm with 3.0 engine.
