After your BSRI expires, do most of you renew a new maintenance contract with BMW or everything ala-carte? pay as and when the need arises? mine is coming up in 4-5 months time. (mid Apr 2010)

Ehh Astro, yours is a Christmas 2007 car right? If so you have BSRI until Christmas 2010 wat. And you've only gone 1/2 way to the km limit. Haven't bought the calculator yet, or still testing whether I'm out to lunch? :D

Just received letter from BMW that BSRI now allows you to change engine oil every 10K km. I hope I read it correctly. Rugi, just change mine on my own:rolleyes:

It is 3 years or 60K km right ? Catching up with your mileage already. 15K km today - car 7 months only

hehe... my mistake.. like what we spoke about during lunch... keep focusing on bad things.. yes, my BSRI due Dec-2010. But I keep focusing on "warranty" which is 2 years and due next month.. :(

The BSRI is no big deal la. Brake pads and rotor, oil, oil filter, wiper blades, cabin filter.. and I think the list stops there. Still, its better than nothing la. My wiper blades still like new, seldom use them.. front brake pads.. pretty worn now, 7k km to go and maybe one more BSRI oil change at most.. by next Christmas 2010.

Our car warranty 2 years only ka ? Alamak, I dont even realise !!!:stupid:

Your one dunno... but I doubt they extend it for the LCI.. otherwise, Rachel will be busy writing letter lio.. :p

While enjoying my UDM, i just realised my BSRI crossed the 2 years last month..... :( and oil change is due in 3k km time.

No problem with oil change, MSport: BSRI = 3 years, warranty = 2 years. As Astro says, the warranty lapsing is worse because now if you have broken or worn parts such as suspension, exhaust, brakes, be prepared to part with some real money. :)

German parts are the most expensive in the auto world. Just had cracked front suspension bits replaced on the Merc. Total cost...RM6k...

Bro Schwepps,

BSRI = 2 years Warranty = 3 years

or is it the other way around?

Are German parts expensive because of their premium quality or because our gomen tax high-high? :rolleyes:

The other way around laaa! Or how much money do you want to put on it, I'll match you. :D BSRI is 3 years or 60,000km, whichever comes first. Warranty is 2 years, unlimited km.

Premium quality? Well, Merc front suspension arms still crack after 4+ years of our roads. Merc exhaust pipe still breaks clean through at the silencer. I think Jap parts are hardier. German parts are just expensive to begin with. Merc, BMW and Audi are at an eye-popping level, but no where near Porsche, which is at a fainting level. An aquaintance recently spent >RM100k overhauling his pre-owned Carrera S! :eek:

Was hit by a pebble yesterday on the windscreen. Came out from nowhere just before Jalan Duta toll. No lorry nearby as well. Now my windscreen with a small scar. Anything can be done to smoothen it or I have to look at it everyday.:106:
