I experienced a sound that came out from the front center console after I start the engine. Noticed that when ECU checked all the functions, then the "kraahhh" sound will appear. Anyone experience this before ?

Does the sound come form the key fob/steering column area? I had this sound before just before the steering lock mechanism died which was replaced under warranty.

Aiyoh ET, after Gymkhana got "krraaahhh" sound already.....

Send your baby to Ingress to have it check, after-all its under warranty.

Tried to check the timing, i think the sound just before the aircondition is on. it is below the FOB

Ya la. After gymkhana this sounds came out. Heard some absorber noise when go over the bump.

There's 2 distinct sounds when we insert our FOB, one of them is the engage/disengage of steering lock mechanism and the other is the aircond vent flaps.. these are mechanical devices, so I'm not surprised at all for all these while, I do not assume its a fault.

But if its a new sound that u never hear before, then best get it checked by SC. I think mine is schedule for another drop because my vacuum pump remain wet after 2 fixes.. *&^%$#@!!

Aircon vent is more likely, but since I got my car, there no such sound or it is very soft. Now I can hear it. i understand what you meant as the steering lock mechanism disengaged. Definitely not this sound ( usually a soft click or clack ).

Talking about unwanted sound, is any of you guys experianced sound from door rubbers...the SC told me that its normal for E90's and they normally lubricate the rubbers when the sound comes...i did that but its slowly coming back....any suggestion on permanent solutions on this...

I have click clack sound from the driver's door. SC put a black tape on the lining of the rubber. Now more sound

This is very familiar.... I have this identical problem, its the rain channels. I had them changed TWICE. Just send your ride to SC and request for the rain channels (left & right) to be changed.

I"ve got an e60 05 with only 12k kms so far and I've got all kinds of noise coming up.All 4 windows have a funny crackling sound, there's some kinda rattling coming of my back seat...what is it with these UDMs la? I never had any of these from the 3 Mercs I've had in the past

They told me to apply some lubrication on the felt lining to get rid of the window noise and I tried silicone spray,Armour all and stuffs(except KY) but to no avail. And also heard of this particular 3m tape that's suppose to work but where can I get it?Can somebody here tell me where I could go to settle all these interior noise once and for all pleaseeee?

Im in the same dilemma bro and have tried some lubrication suggested by sc here at penang..they told me somekind of thinner:stupid:...the result lasted only for 2 weeks which exactly what the service person told me(can last only few weeks)...anyway i will try what our bro Black E90 suggested then hopefully it works...or else im gonna make plenty of noise to them:argh:..

Lets list down all the interior noises that experienced by us and send it to BMW Malaysia:rock:

Just talk to a SC just now...he said the rain channel problem will give different crackling sound..so since he is very sure that mine is door rubber so im sending the car in next Monday...will let you guys know the result...

Sigh!! i guess we all need to have a TT just to identify what kind of sound our cars making..

A friend's E60 also just complained to me that his door seal rubber is screeching, just after warranty period, but he managed to claim brand new suspension (all 4 sides) upon warranty expires.. but his E60 returned to SC more than 20 times in a year.. that's once every other week.. ~*salute

Of course another friend's E60 literally got a new engine when he last return to the SC when felt engine vibrating.. when open drain bolt, no oil come out.. Sludge blocked! :24: Yes, he follow OBC service interval religiously.. courtesy car granted during the 2 months repair.. he's not complaining and looking forward for F10.. :stupid: :D

I wonder how much our chassis flexes.. ??? My Toyota also no such rubber screeching sound from the door seal.. wind sound maybe.. :p

You will notice our rubber door seals have a powder coating to protect the rubber from aging. Its very important u don't clean the powder away. So when I wash my car, I avoid rubbing or cleaning the rubbers.. the powder is "anti aging"..

My suspension also have some sounds when going over the bump. Must claim also:rolleyes:

Wah! E60 is in that deep shit ah?aiyoo, had I only known this earlier.Must make note, next time before buying a certain unfamiliar make, join the forum first.

Yo Astro, got anti aging powder ah? will it work on our skin or not?door seals can replace ma,my skin no spare parts.Funny you mentioned about the chassis flex.I get this feeling that my car flexes like the San Francisco bridge during strong winds man.Especially with all this crackling sound amplifying it.So,does anybody know a one stop center where I can sort all these unwanted music please?Astro,You sure know somewhere ma.Help la.Maybe I can drop it in the morning and pick it up in the evening, pay a reasonable sum and drive home totally satisfied with the silence..You know how many times I've had that dream?
