Hello all,Wondering if anyone has used sound deadening materials in their UDMs? Typically they are installed along the firewall, floor board and inside the doors and roof to reduce noise. I have seen products like those manufactured by Wurth and Elemental Designs' Edead series but wondering if they're any good.Any experiences?

Did mine at KLAuto.

Costs depends on the type of material used, and how many pieces.

I put it in my doors, and under my rear seats.

Can't remember the costs, that was a few years ago.

Car is more quiet, and door closes with a more solid 'thud'.

Bro, is that the one which has a reflective aluminium-foil-type surface on one side and a black adhesive on the other?

Will make a visit to KLAuto soon. In your opinion which is better, the foam treatment or sound deadening panels? Thanks

Nope. Black on both sides, iirc.

i did both.

Foaming is used to strengthen the chassis, as well as providing some sound proofing benefits.

Strengthening the chassis with foaming is done by manufacturers on some cars, and at selective parts of the chassis. It is a common practice done on race cars to strengthen the chassis without adding much weight.

However, bear in mind it is a non-reversible process. Understand which parts you intend to foam, and what the effect is. A common part to foam in the A-pillar, the door sill, and the B-pillar.

Thanks Lee, will take your advise in consideration.
