Smoked by an E60 525!

today as I was driving home from work an e60 525 msport bearing number WSJ XXXX came snorting down my tail...oh well, let's see what this "turner-fied" dinosaur can do...next thing i knew a zigzag move in 3rd gear s-mode got me past a couple of cars at 140kmh before braking hard at the toll...after hearing the beep on the smart tag, i floored the fun pedal...80kmh in 1st, 120kmh in 2nd...140kmh in 3rd...zig zag a couple of cars again, and then braked hard for a constant radius right hander...for a minute my antagonist was caught behind a couple of cars, but very quickly he emerged in my rear view mirror as i leaned hard into the right and left hander...once we got onto the nkve, there was a fair bit of traffic, and i 'decided' (as if i had a choice ) to let him pass...gleefully he over took me, and i tailed him all the way...with his 6-speeder and double vanos, it was obvious his acceleration was far superior...but somehow i hung onto him in 3rd right up to 160 with about 5 car lengths in between...we had to brake hard on 3-4 occasions due to slow traffic...he got right up to 200, maybe 210 in a blink from 110...i managed about 190 i think...was too excited to notice the speedometer...i consoled myself thinking, not too bad for an old fart e34 with a 4 speed slush box...it was fun anyway

An E90 325i would have makan him due to the power to weight ratio..

The 6 speed close ratio box and valvetronics N52 can really pull away fast, an E36 325i tried it and it was scary looking at them pulling away. Seem like 200cc advantage!!

Lucky you man. So far, I haven't seen an E60 525 who drives very enthusiastically. They were doing the most 200km/hr. The one that really smoked me was an E66 750i. From the rear view mirror I thought it was a 735i but the rate of closure made me wonder. The pull was really effortless. I was having a hard time catching up with this monster. I think he drove up to the 250km/hr limit.

I find most beemer driviers are quite diciplined. They hardly drive very fast. The taikos on the road are Alphards and Wishes.

I wont be surprise if the E60 was a BMW Malaysia car... Other forummers had runs with these cars in the past on the NKVE towards cyberjaya. They really believe in their product and use it to the fullest

Too many times, I shiok sendiri racing by myself and some other car thinks I'm asking for a race and starts poking me.

I oblige and give him a good run. But soon, sense gets the better of me and I back off and the person goes home smug that he has smoked a BM. I go home contented that I could have done more and made the fella feel good for the rest of the day.

I'm not saying this is the case. I'm not rich enuf to drive an E60.

i have my little fun if another bmw tailgates me. Most of the time e46 3-series. They think old cars like e34 should get out of their way. They see one tailpipe and probably thinks another slow 520. I let them overtake and return the favour. enjoyable to have them try but not able to shake me even with 4 ekzos pipes... ahkaka. follow them for a short drive then back off. don't want to wander too far from where i'm going and no balls to do 180-200 on federal highway. haven't tried with e60. if one tailgates me will probably give it a go.
