Sloppy Shifter in E34, advice needed, what about SSK?

Dear all sifus, I have a sloppy shifter(gear shift have free play), I know have to change bushings, etc. But I just dunno how many parts to get.Below is the picture i got from www.realoem.com

Please advice which part i need to change.Also, what if I change to z3 1.9 short shifter? Just buy the z3 1.9 shift lever(part no. 25 11 1 434 148)? The rest juz change the required bushing parts?Thank you!

Hi there, u are right... get the z3 1.9 not too long not too short... 2511 7 527 252 alternatively you can try the 328 or ///M shifter 2511 7 527 247

The rest is item no. 2,7,8,12 x 2, 13, 14 (i think come in a set from 18-20 inclusive), 15 x 2, 16 and 17. Just did it on my M40 for Getrag. Yours looked a bit different tho.

I bought item 2,7,8,10x4,12. Clip 11 can be reuse so i skip. I also got the Z3 1.9. Good, not too long, not too short.

And while your GB is down anyways, might want to consider doing this:

(also did mine recently, now the gear knob spring back to neutral very firmly. previously every morning I had to do a hard knock to get into the 5th gear drain before it become usable.)

yup...u can get the z3 one or u can get from UUC. the shifter as well as the dssr. both are nice

sloppy shift can be caused by #4 and #7.. Try pulling the shifter upwards and see if there's freeplay??

As for shortshift options, u can also opt for this... while retaining your current shifter.
