Service Reset DIY for E90

Everyone,I put up this DIY just to share with you on how to reset service interval since some of us with due warranty period. i just refer to www.bimmerpost.com DIY but no pics and the steps are not quite clear. It took me 1/2hr earlier to figure it out and with some photos i uploaded hope it will help.STEP1:Insert key into slotSTEP2ress Start/Stop button once without depressing brake and you'll see all those warning signs in red and amber.

STEP3:Wait until all the signs disappear as below

STEP4:Immediately after the signs or service reminder disappear, Press and hold the odometer and after 2-3 sec a warning triangle will appear as below.

STEP5:Keep the odo. button pressed and after another 2-3 secs the Oil can will appear or whatever next service is about to due. In my case air filter require change next in 17000km....i'm using K&N .. so can reset anytime after cleaning the filter heheheh

STEP6:You are now in the service menu, use the toggle switch on indicator stalk to scroll up/downthrough the various service items.When you have the item you want to reset showing, press the BC button on end of indicatorstalk. Reset should now appear in the display. Press in and hold the BC button for 2-3 secsand a clock will start whirling around and hey presto, its done

Remember on STEP5 if you keep holding the odometer reset button, some German writing will appear and you have to back to the beginning and start again.

Warranty due lah....end 2006 not 2007.plus i drove long distance a lot..Penang, Kota Bharu, Terengganu..

Not yet use Torco...but next 10K km I will. Now I'm on Castrol Edge 5w40 " Thanks to BMWCM" ....

Now warranty due....next the car lor.....hehehe racun for self...:wink:...F10...but got to wait few more yrs.

Eh how come yoo always see my car..? ya lah go to OU or Ikano..family favorite place hahahah at least once a week la..

Good info... BTW, the picture in Step 5 is what I have due too. Is that the air filter sign? What is the fan for?

Good question Bro,....we better check with BMW dealer first...
usually what i do i'll call AUto bavario and request for service advice plus the cost of replacement material before i go to any SC...

I think its the microfilter thingy which works clean and gives us fresh air in the car through the A/C unit.

Wah thanks bro....that easy...buy OEM one around RM 241 and DIY la....
I did open it before and clean the dust...i think I will do that next, get it change.

that is d micro filter warning sign. microfilter is d air cond filter for ur UDM.

kanos, is this method to shorten the service interval or extended it ? if reset, the counter goes back to zero?

Ye bro..example oil cange...once i reset it goes back to 35k km ...if i not mistaken..same goes to other service such as safety checks every 50k km and spark plug every 100k km...somebody correct me if i'm wrong here.
