Hi there guys,I find this forum really helpful and would like to ask some questions, hopefully I'd find the answers to here.I am changing the ownership of my car, since my friend is buying it from me. I have cancelled my insurance since he has to get his own(under his name), and the road tax of the car has already expired.1) I was wondering whether I am able to go to JPJ and process the change of car ownership without any hassle, do you think it is possible they ask me to hand in proof of insurance or any road tax proof?2) I want to also know, what documents do I, and my friend who's purchasing the car, need to bring along with us to process the change of ownership?I would really appreciate your help.

Don't know enuf to advise in full.

But 1 thing u left out is the compulsory puspakom inspection. Need to have that done before change of ownership.

where can i find the puspakom inspection centre? is it at the same place of JPJ, btw ill be going to the Wangsa Maju one... please assist me

If the MV does not have a valid road tax then insurance is not required if it's just for change of ownership. Just need to complete the relevant JPJ forms. However Puspakom inspection is a must. Hope this clarifies.

There's one in Wangsa Maju but you can also get runner to do it for you (so that you don't have to wait 1-2 hours). If you need a runner, please PM me. Of course you need to pay them some extra $$$ for the services involved :)

Bro, its quite a hassle if u want to do it yourself..

1. Get it inspected in the nearest puspakom..bring the original geran..approx.2-3 hrs cud be more..
2. Go to jpj. Bring the documents, puspakom, copy of ic both seller and buyer, both the buyer and seller must be present at jpj for signature verification, have to sign forms in front of the officer and wait....cant really tell for how long..my experience: i had to spend a day to get it done, and took a leave some more..

Hope it helps...
