Full FIA Spec rally prepped cars are expensive to build... 1.2 mill includes some spare parts...

This rally car wasn't built by Proton, it's built by an Englishman company called MEM (Mellors Elliot Motorsport).. http://www.memuk.com/

what are the local proton components must be used to be qualified as Proton rally car?

that's the 1 million dollar question. the shell might be proton, maybe some pedals and the gear lever handle. the rest, go figure.

Very cheap lor. With Malaysian import duty and sales tax or not? Got AP or not? kekekee... :D

Even the pedals and gear levers are not Proton items.. hehe..

Actually all the other WRC cars were oso shell only, and of cos with their own engines... ie Subaru and Mitsubishi, everything else custom built for the cars... At least this Satria Neo is still a proton chassis and not a mitsu lancer rebadged as proton.. hehe.. like what PERT did for Karamjit's ex rally cars... ;)

The engine in this S2000 car is the same one used for the BTCC Waja few years back....

The car is registered in UK lah... Bring in to rally only... The same as those rally entrants from NZ, Australia and Thailand..

Proton probably is using this to promote its sales of Satria Neo abroad... I'd probably not buy a stock proton Satria Neo, but doesn't mean I don't like this S2000 rally car... hehe..

Neo has 2L engine meh? Need homologation right?
This one you got to read the R&R of the homologation papers...

For Group N's homologation
(from Wiki:)
To qualify for homologation, a minimum of 2500 cars of the competing model have to be built in one year, out of 25,000 for the entire range of the model (eg: 2500 Subaru Impreza WRX, out of 25,000 Subaru Impreza).
