I called and ask sapura. They told me tat alignment cost RM300 ????? why? becoz of RFT ??wondering rm300 included balancing or not.

Shudn't be becos of RFT. I have done alignment/balancing a couple of times with a reliable tyre shop and I'm on RFTs. About RM50+ or so should cover both items.

My Auto Bavaria E90 did alignment job at Sg Besi.. FOC!! Still under warranty ma..

alignment job included??? mine also under warranty. i called for it. they said abt rm3xx :( damn

Eh? Warranty includes alignment/balancing?
I recall the BRSI specifically states that it's not included...

Ic... then it makes sense that they rectify this fault for you FOC, since this should have been one of the pre-delivery checks.

For future alignment/balancing, I think it will not be covered by the SC anymore.
Wah.. if got then ho seh liao :p
How nice if they covered tyre replacement as well haha...

Farnee, I was just complaining to E46F about it. Guys, it's not cos of the RFT but becos of Active Steering (at least that was how it was explained to me by AB to justify the RM380). B4 this, I had also checked with another E92 owner who advised me that outside shops won't be able to do alignment properly since they don't have the software to set your Active Steering at the same time, something which must be done concurrently. I took that advise cos I did alignment with Sunny Car Care and other workshops but they just couldn't get it right. Anyways, I'm sending my car in on Friday to get it done but it's more like an experiment to see if this is truly the case.

Also, alignment not covered under BSRI. Astroboy must have an alluring side to him that we don't have with Service Advisors to get away with it.

From the past 2 decades of multiple car ownership, I did less than 10 alignment jobs.. don't know much about Active Steering but alignment is something you don't need to do if don't hit into pot holes, don't replace lower arms and bushes, don't replace steering rod booty, don't replace absorbers.. it last years..

I don't do alignment job when replace new tyres or when do tyre rotation. Its not suppose to lari. And when its right, u better don't meddle with it as its very very very difficult to get it right, more so with a centered steering..

My experience from past cars ownership...

I have done my car E90 alignment numerous times with Hup Shun in Sunway, Speedline at Sunway Damansara and Hokomoto Racings at Batu Caves and all with no problem at all. I've never believe what Auto Bavaria or Sapura Auto claim that it requires special equipment/software to set the active steering after alignment of the car! I guess there is no such thing. It is the same alignment process and there is no special equipment/software to set the active steering after alignment job. Well... maybe I'm wrong but for my case it is proven no problem doing alignment at outside of Auto Bavaria or Sapura Auto.

Hi guys, I'm new to the club but not to the bmw world! As far as i know, my sa told me that the warranty is up to 2000km, however if yours is just over the 2000km, you can still talk to your sa for assistance! I bought mine from Autobavaria Glenmarie!

E90 325I and above only got the active steering system......
And almost all new 523I and above got the active steering......
Set the alignment for sure no need any software to do it so, BUT the software need to tell the system the alignment job is carry out. If not the steering angle will lari like HELL..... That y they charge that crazy amount...... Have to pay them :(

Yeah. I can confirm that! I finally got my alignment done at AB Segambut for a whopping RM380. They pointed out the need to set steering angle vis-a-vis Active Steering software and also, there's a screw that needs to be removed to set your camber (negative camber) which other service centres didn't take out when they did alignment. It's expensive but worth it for me cos my steering never felt this good as after the job by AB.
