Restoring e21

Hi guys, I was wondering anyone can help suggest a good 1)mechanic to rebuild M20B20 motronic engine installed from a running E30 into an E212) good body n paint workshop 3) good place to restore interior fully.Appreciate if you guys can give me some contacts who are affordable n reliable. Thanks all.

you need someone who is willing to act as your project manager. that person must be familiar with all three establishments you mentioned, knows very well the steps towards properly restoring an old car, resourceful in sourcing parts, budget preparation, and overall project management/status reports.

a truly dedicated and competent project manager is not cheap. that's why a lot of owners end up managing their own projects, each with a different outcome.

i would recommend that you change the engine to m20b20 motronic if you are planning to use the car on frequent basis

did mine 6 years ago as what you are planning do..it costs me RM10k++

That's the engine the car is running on now. Where did u get your work done? U happy with the work?

I am willing to,do it myself but I am having difficulty in finding a reliable workshop for the mentioned 3 key components.

for item no 1 : you may scout at BG or others
item no 2 : i trust my local guy who is in bangi ( lian heng ) or others
item no 3 : Ah kit at Kg melayu subang or others

hope this helps and restoring a car back to prestine condition may require a big burning hole in your pocket, but the pleasure of doing so is an upmost rewarding.
