resistance when rolling-out/step off gas

recently have noticed that whenever I step off the gas pedal, there seems to be some sort of resistance and the speed drops off much faster than usual. this only happens occasionally and not at all times, but seems quite odd. as if I was v. slightly braking, but I am not. The RPM is generally above 1K when this happens, whereas for smooth rolling, I believe it is 0.5K RPM? But I am not sure if this has anything to do with it. i drive auto trans.the feeling is comparable to when driving manual and letting the engine break by shifting down one gear when approaching a stop.Usually I could roll for a long time when I reach like 30 mph and now I can see and feel how the speed drops off much quicker it doesnt feel nice at all. What could be the problem here?

Are you on a downhill? Automatic transmission can do engine braking too.

no its on a straight, also like highway.

for example when u see a traffic light u step off the gas in advance and expect to continue to roll for a moment. but here the speed drops off much faster and I will need to apply gas again to reach the stop.

I noticed a problem with my handbrake that it cant be applied for more than two clicks and doesnt quite hold the car , but this could not be related I believe? because the feeling is somewhat as if I was very slightly braking.

Normally when rolling to a stop without throttle the transmission should shift into the highest possible gear to allow the car to roll freely, now it seems like it wants to stay in whatever gear its in (usually 3rd or 4th) and not shift up.

I had my tranny fluid and filter replaced but actually its only after that I have noticed this problem...

does it make sense to do another "flush" ? could it be because of debris that needs to be flushed/cleared out? which part of transmission is affected by this?

I hv experience about tat problem. Jst bcoz my brake jammed. After service the brake system n adjust the hanbrake cable, every things back to normal.
