What I'm know, these guys did all works from A to Z. How come could be like this???:eek::stupid: Modified gear box?? Normally, no modification in gearbox becoz they used Toyota 1JZ enjin & gearbox . Why need to modified gearbox??? Btw, little bit in mounting matters. Is it the same guys or what?:stupid:

Yaaaa, better like that. Go straight away one place and solve all problem. Why have to go so many places? If u wants to do conversion in Bentong, let them settle in Bentong. If u think Seremban more better, just go there. Why 'pening kepala'? :stupid: Every workshop has their experties to do all this conversion matters. If the workshop only know how convert engine, better go to other place. Just my 2 cents....:39:
 
fair enuf.. jo-e34, u free to run down to seremban to check out your wshop? anyone else keen to do this "run" to visit wshop who can handle and check our cars?
 
i'm stationed in sban........just pick a date in advance......and the quantities of cars that are coming.....i'll try to arrange with the workshop.....cos those guyz do have long ques........:biggrin:

Hi Ree34,

The 1JZ has a lot of potential, it's a great engine with some minor issues.
Since you got the car/engine 2nd hand, you should check on the internet for 1JZ, there's
tons and tons of info available online. By 'refurbish' I can only suggest the following,
Firstly find a mechanic who's experienced on this type of motor. You'll find in your journey to refurbish a lot of characters who claim many a things on the 1JZ is either damaged or need to spend a lot of money
My suggestions, start by find a 'sifu' for 1JZ
Have him take the turbo's off and look for leaks. Engine oil will need replacement. Never mind if your seller or had 'just' changed the oil. Turbo cars very 'manja' about the oil clean oil - happy turbos. Dirty Oil > caking > sad turbos > empty wallet. The CT12A Turbos will only handle some abuse, they're ceramic. Some TLC should take care of them. 1 JZs have issues with ECU (some members here have had that problem), Fuel Regulator,Timing issues, Coil packs cracked etc. Again this info is available on the net. IF your's is a manual 'Syabas' the R157 is solid gearbox, my guess is usually a second-hand car with 1JZ already kau-kau used. SO The oil sump will need to come off to see any sediments = tell tail signs, best time to clean the oil pump etc.

Other than that it's also some 'luck' involved. SO once you get the refurbishment done 1 by 1 = save money la..hopefully the engine will give you much pleasure.

I will research on a mechanic, maybe the one who's doing my conversion BUT I must see the finish product and then only I can recommend.

Just curious, any sifu's here boosting their stock 1jz TT non-traction control to 1 bar or 0.9 and use it daily. How much different is the power compare to the stock 0.7 bar. Is it safe? Heard that the ceramic blade is prone to disintegrate when you torture it too hard.

know a guy which is running 1.5 bar.....for more than 18months.....daily driven....no prob.....still going strong.....as for whp output only manage to get 250whp (auto) that same car dynoed stock 0.7 bar....at 200whp b4 emanage.....

to add on myself dynoed stock standard....0.7 bar....250whp (manual) at the same shop.....

his car is jzx80 or jzx90??? i think proberly is a jzx80 that why 1.5bar only can get 250whp(as i know jzx80 even hit 1.5bar but the boost is not that consistant, 1.5bar will proberly stay for few second and boost will drop back to 0.9 even with wastegate and lotz of more vitamin), if jzx90 1.5bar as told it will around 320 to 330whp.

bro bmw1jze36, standard jz engine series can stand for at lease 400hp without changing stronger piston and conrod... but turbine hehe ceramic turbine always not that reliable, some upgrade on ct12.... 1.5bar anytime....
 
i guess u are right.....he is probably using version 1.0,1jz......and yez.....1.5 bar will give u about....320 whp from the jz90 series....but there is boost cut ler....how to eliminate....that....?

Throw the stock ECU in Sungai Kelang and replace it with stand alone ones i guess. :rock:

Any sifus here tried E46 M/// exhaust system for their 1jz-GTE TT. Mine is from the JZZ30 Soarer none VVTI.
