The N53 engine is meant for markets with low sulphur fuel conforming to EURO 4M standards and above. In Malaysia, it is still EURO 2M and high sulphur content might clog up the injector in the long run. Mine is N53 together with some other folks but it might take a while before things go bad. If you want N52 which will not have this issue (but some other issues like engine oil dropping), you can get local CKD models or Japan spec LCI's. Bottom line is, problems would exist and it's a matter of how bad it can become. Sometimes it's also about luck
If you want, just buy auto repair insurance like me. RM2K+ a year and they will cover if your engine or gearbox is damaged.
