hello friends,Just replaced the radiator few days ago. Notice that the coolant burst out while checking the next morning. A friend told me that there are bubbles trapped inside and coz the preassure. I guess the pomen forgot to release the bubbles after replacing the radiator. Notice also the indicator also peeping on and off. Any ideas how to do it at home?i mean to release the bubbles. Mine is E46 2.0 facelift. Really appreciate all sifus ideas. Thanks

I don't think the coolant will burst out even you don't release the air bubble trapped inside the radiator..., but your engine probably, will get overheated due to insufficient of coolant or water..

If the water is low, probably adding water to marked level will solve the problem..

Good luck...

if you have the coolant coming out when you open the radiator cap, I think you have a more serious problem than the foreman forgetting to bleed the radiator.

To bleed the radiator, all you have to do is loosen a black plastic cap located next to the radiator cap. It look like a round plastic cap about the size of a ten sen coin with a "X" mark. Start your engine and rev the engine to about 1 to 2 K rpm. you should see some air bubbles coming out of the cap. Tighten the black cap when you see only water coming out.

BTW, I think you should check whether there is any sign of air bubbles when the engine is running with the radiator cap off. (DO it when the engine is cold). If there are sign of bubbles, this is a sign that your engine gasket is blown. Another sign of gasket blown is that you need to top up the radiator water at least once a week.

yup yup... prob the gasket.... else something more extensive. better B M W to check lerr... else more $$$ involved!
