Hi Guys,My car is about 105,000km. My regular workshop said that it is time to change the water pump, radiator, expansion tank & some hoses. It is true that all this needs to be done? He said he had seen too many over-heating problem around 100k-120k milage.Cheers...

he is right, unless you have never done so...

preventive maintainence is the best.

regards.

totally agree, you are lucky it didnt cause any problem for 105,000km. u better change especially the expansion tank and water pump. amazing your expansion tank can last you more than 100K whithout problem

Thanks for the feedback guys.

How much am I looking at to change all this parts?, at least i have a rough figure when the workshop gives me a quotation. Planning to get it done maybe this weekend.

Thanks guys.

The tank has to suffer tremendous pressure, unlike JDM. It will fail mostly triggered by a failing thermostat which of course stop coolant from passing and thus building up pressure in the expansion tank.

E90 expansion tank more expensive.. :( Reference here

However, in my 2007 model E90, it's running an electric on-demand water pump. So pressure does not build up when pump is not running, unlike traditional engine design where the pump is v-belt driven which runs constantly as long as engine has started.

Water pump, expansion tank, etc usually lasts up to 60k kms. Some have better luck and would last longer; some lesser. I've changed mine as a precaution already and i've just clocked 70+k. You dont want to be stuck on a rainy night.
