Dear all,Anybody can advice or share on whether it is possible to install a M steering with paddleshift to a steptronic E39 and do the manual shifts via the paddles? That would be very interesting.Cheers!Neo

Neoh,

throw with such a idea makes me "gatal" and want to change to M steering with paddle shift lah.....wow, can works on my e39 if permitted :top: must save $$$ to acquire for the M steering

u have to make the e46 later model ie paddleshift steering fit to ur e39 model. as far as i know later model e39 diff with e46. but with some mod it can fit of course. then u must know wer to tap the wire from the steptronic. i dont think u can disable completely the current shifter as there's 3 model of shifting in the steptronic. perhaps u cud just tab the singnal from the pins that control the manual mode. i still think it can be done...:top:

Bro, u also kena racum oredi man! ...very hard for you to stick to your stock E39 bro..hehehe

definitely can. it's been done before.

all you need are the following:-
1. M-sports steering with paddleshift
2. sleeve adaptor to replace the existing one (for paddleshift function - sits inside the steering column behind the steering wheel)
3. circuitboard to connect the steptronic function to the paddles

and i know somebody who can install it. all you need are the items 1 & 2. item 3 has to be fabricated.

haha, I will completely keep my e39 as stock standard as possible. as it was my dream to fit such a equipment in my e39 (addicted to the volkswagen GTi-MK V, DSG paddle shift then). and hopefully such a satisfactory driving style can move to my e39:wink::top: by change to the M sport steering with paddle shift...but i think i have to forge out more than 5-10k for such satisfactory:eek:
