To all sifus,If my 320i M54 didn’t start for 2 days, after I start and the temperature up to normal then I shift to ‘D’ and press the gas pedal but my car didn’t move smoothly. It’s move but not smooth as usual, it’s like moving in 3rd or 4th gear. When it’s happened, I have to shut down my engine and start my engine again then it will be back to normal. Why this happened? TQ in advance.

There is nothing wrong with the car.. It just got upset at you for neglecting it for 2 days..

BTW, did you say " I miss you before you start the car".

Seriously, maybe battery voltage a bit low. did you get any light/alarm on the dash board when the car went into "limp" mode.

No alarm was display on dashboard during this happened.

How can i check my voltage? is there any volt meter for me to refer in my E46?

You can check your battery by using the below procedure if you dont have a voltmeter.
See TEST #9.0 listed below.

Instructions to access the hidden OBC functions:

1. Hold Trip Reset while turning ignition key to on position
2. OBC should show "Test"
3. Use Trip Reset to select function 19.0 that unlocks all the features
4. Wait for display to show "Off"
5. Depress Trip Reset for 1/4 second and release it
6. With no delay press Trip Reset several times to select one of the following function s

Thanks Jarance. I will do it soon.

Just try it on my car on Sunday and find that it works. I tried to go to step 9 without doing step3 till 6. The display just went blank. It only works for info 1.0 till 1.5.

In order to get the function/display to work properly, you must perform step 3 till 6 in order to display the info.

My test show that the battery was 12 VDC. and dropped till 10.5 when cranking. After the engine is started, the voltage was 14 VDC.

Note : You can also monitored other parameter when the engine is running..
