Mine have it as a standard altjough it is not motorised. I know some of the proton have it as motorised, maybe can considered to buy that and retrofit it to your car. BTW, it is illegal to drive with the sun shade in the up position..

couple of types.

BMW type is the 'X' type .. AB carries this. Can't remember the price ... A few grand .. definitely

Brothers type .. manual oso got, oto oso got. Manual is abt less than $100 (can't remember the exact price .. long time al-leady). Oto type .. he he he .. dun last one ...

But really want privacy .... put curtain lorrr .. last time I put only old-newspaper ... can oso ..... :p

Bimmerman: Yes, I was reading brit car mags even before I went over. Max Power was one of my faves. But 'naff' certainly was one of the milder words used in that mag...Car had the best writing and I think some of the staff went over to EVO (by way of PC). After a while, the writing got more and more....shall we say, influenced?

The local mags have a lot to catch up on. Hypertune has one of the worst editing. So too Asian Auto, when Chris Wee was at the helm. It was absolute rubbish. Cars.my is the best. Autocar is improving by leaps and bounds under D.Wong and that Lee can'tspellhisname bloke.

Beats posting to a limited audience online, though.

Apologies, OT.

as long as it's not the normal curtain type I am ok. Looks like kereta mayat only *cabut*

Damn. Really hate those people driving with those blinds up. Somemore driving on the fast lane & blocking your vision ahead. These r the people living in their own world, selfish & inconsiderate. Another reason why our road is not smooth flowing. Wait till they get it from the back. Wawasan 2020 my foot!

Totally agreed, Chaiks!!!!! Those stupid cars with blinds and curtains are so damn SELFISH lot. If scared of the sun, then stay home la!!!!!
Hate following these cars as we can't anticipate those upfront braking or slowing down. When we hit their back, we at fault!!!!!!Inconsiderate LOT!!!!!!!!!!!I alwiz curse and swear when i see one. So those.............................Beware!!!!!!!!!!

Fellow UDM lovers, after some searching on the 'net found this pic of what I was talking about:

NE1 have any idea on where to do this? Other than AB that is...

TIA

The side curtains were made available on late model E39 and 530 as standard offering.

I enquired and was told that the curtian came with a new different door trim behind which curtain will roll when withdrawn. There is also a hook on top of the door to hold the curtian up. Not worth the money, since Ive already got the rear curtain.

I bought those "stick" on types and I cut them to fit. But in the end, threw them away cos it was too much bother.

Those curtains suppied from BMW (and MB and VAG) does not hindered your vision at all.

It is also motorised.. which is kewl.

Go see first b4 commenting. And what has the curtains got to do with bangging someone arse?

I have rear sun blinds (aka curtains). Visibility is good - it does cut out some but not enogh to make it dangerous. But it does prevent direct sunlight. The rear sun blind are electrically operated by a button below the aircon controls.

The side curtains supplied by BMW as shown in the diagrams are manually controlled and is either full up or withdrawn.

But frankly, the tinting is enough to keep out trhe heat and my tinting is dark enough
