Pre facelift 325i vs facelift 325i...

Hi guys, I'd like to ask the difference in the engines between the facelift and non facelift e46 325i. Does the non facelift version shares the same engine as the last version of the e36 325i? Is it also a magnesium alloy engine as what they have in the facelift e46? Thanks in advance for your input. Am trying to learn more bout the non facelift e46 Regards

Thanks elixir....but i still do not find more info about the engine differences. And does the wiki description of BMW applies to local malaysia ckd models?
