Power Window not working when the doors are closed

Hi to all members and sifus here,I had the problem with my power window, its not working when the all doors are closed but working well if one of the door is open. weird huh???my story begins here, recently my radio signal seems intermittent. sometimes the radio signal clear, sometimes don't. after a few reading on this forum and also other forum, i think my problem might be with my radio antenna. so i decide to go with bosch antenna (inside type) as a lot of members recommended this bosch antenna. so this evening, i went to balakong for my friend's birthday party. while waiting for my frens for the party i saw the brothers shop nearby me. so i just went there to change to the bosch antenna.during the installation job, the guy try to joint one of the wire from the bosch antenna with inner lamp cable (the one on the roof side) suddenly the guy did a mistake and my inner lamp not working anymore. he short one of the +ve cable with the ground and blow the lamp fuse. he changed the fuse and the main lamp working again but the dedicated lamp(reading lamp i think) to driver and beside driver passenger not working anymore. before that all the 3 lamps are working well. after they finished install the bosch antenna, i complain to them why my dedicated lamp not working anymore? before that everything is working well. they tried to solve the problem but failed. they told me i need to see the outside wiring man by my own because they cant solve the problem. angrily i take my car and just go. while driving, i tried to open the window but it cant open. i go back to the shop and complain again why my power window also not working after they installed the bosch antenna. they said they had do nothing with my power window. i told them that maybe the problem start when the guy short the +ve terminal with the ground terminal. i asked them to check every fuse in my car, but they didn't found any blow fuse anymore. i left the shop very very angry and disappointed.now my power window not working anymore while driving since all the doors need to be closed. Please help me, please help me, please help me. i promise i will never go to brothers shop again.one more thing, i also cannot unlock the door while the engine start. means every time i reach my destination, i have to switch off the engine first to make the doors unlock. if the pull the inside door handle or pull the door unlock stick, the door will not unlock. arrghhh... all this problem happened because of that careless stupid brothers guy.please help me.e36 328 1997 owner.

Let a good wireman check it first and pointing to where the last wiring modification was done.

Without seeing the actual wiring modification done by the stupid people at brother, I cannot advise. very hard to diagnose a illegal modification.

Happened to my Hilux Vigo in the past. But not so bad. It did effect my hazard lights and driver's electric window.

When installing after market front bumper, "wireman" (a.k.a half past six mechanic) joined new set of blinkers into existing wire harness, which is a big no-no as we've later learned. Not even LED light with its minimal power consumption should be joined to the main wire harness.

Best, is to either avoid those after market parts OR to run a wire straight to the battery, with its own fuse, relay and etc.

I suspect something similar happened to your car, try disconnecting your antenna and see if it helps.

im sure when you see burnt cars on the side of the road, they had recently been to brothers for some or other installation............... i went there once for a ICE job, after, when checking at home, they had taken a direct feed from the live terminal of the battery, cut the rubber sheathing at the firewall, and the cable was chaffing on the steel......................................... i have NEVER returned to brothers............

Apparently you have the same problem as me. However mine is an E30. Quite embarrassing though as you need to stop the car by the roadside just to roll the window up by opening the door when it is starting to rain. Good thing it is just a quick fuse fix.
