Power Steering Pump Overhaul

Last weekend I attempted to overhaul my LUK power steering pump. Change all the necessary parts which took me a while to find and did it. Plus flushing with 2 bottles of ATF fluid and a new power steering ATF resovoir. The whrrriing sound when turning the steering reduce by 85% - 90%. Now i just need to run in the part and see if the sound reduce furture. 2 hours Job and still have a spare ZF pump in my keeping for the overhaul.

This problem started on my ride recently, very annoying sound considering I'm the picky type, all my sonar channels open at all times.

It a Vane pump. Need to see the insides.

I actually already have a brand new pump waiting. If you'd like you can have my old pump when I change it. That is provided my mechanic has the time to look for the hoses for the new pump!
