Just wanna ask is the one with the white background an original? Its claim by the seller in ebay its an original piece from factory but i look at my friend's porsch logo it looks different. (The horse tail)Im buying it for my uncle cos' his emblem was stolen. Thanks!

I have a porsche and even i was alittle "unsure" .
I searched the internet and surprisingly couldn't find the answer.
So i went to the car;the logo on the right is exactly the same as
on the key chain and the wheel center cap.Forgot to see the hood's.
Maybe the left logo was from the classic era ( the 356s and early 911s)
Are u planning to buy the hood logo?
Also, didnt take note of the tail, but def no line under STUTTGART.

The factory was built on what was a stud farm ( hence the horse) and the feathers and red/black
lines were the coat of arms of the kingdom of WUTTENBURG ( according to the net)

yup...could be some logos are from different eras.
but im worried if the seller sells a fake emblem.
ill research more

Hey PW

The logo on the left IS the one for the hood.
No doubt. I saw it earlier this afternoon but forgot to inform u.
So i guess there are different original "types"

The speculation is correct - both are original, but of different time periods. The change over happened in the 90s, and these are their part numbers.

901 559 210 20
993 559 211 00

Both have the same fittings. So as long as your uncle's car had one of those, you should have no problems. Only the most pedantic will spot the difference.

;)

Thanks guys !
Ive already got the right one for my uncle's car.
His is the last 993 of air powered.
Pretty hard to find the emblem though..

So if only the pedantic would spot the difference, what does knowing the part numbers make you? :D

An obsessive compulsive pedantic whose sleep was denied until he had found the answer when faced with the same puzzle a couple of years ago!
