Cat, it actually depends on how you plan to use it. I had used both iphone & galaxy S2..
iPhone 4S is really good in terms of applicationwise but it's like a stand-alone phone.. You cannot bluetooth or video call to other phone. With the ios 5, now the battery last much much longer than iPhone4.

Samsung Galaxy S2 also not bad.. The screen is wonderful.. But the battery drain-out quite fast.. The applications also not bad and most of them are free.

In my opinion, since you are an 'active forumer', better go for Galaxy Note because of the screen is wide and it is also quite reliable to use.:26:
