Hi guys,i got into this minor accident with a mad woman (that's a long story, maybe some day i write about it  ) so there's this small dent and scratches on the driver side door panel. I got recommendation from another bm owner that did her paint job in kim keong motor in ss23. just want to ask around for your feedback if you have done your paint job there. also, i am kind of worried that once i re-spray the door, is it possible to have colour diffentiation between the door and the rest of the body (which is still with original paint) after some years. if it does, i was thinking to leave the door alone for the time being. thanks in advanced for your feedback and advise.

kim keong's work is good, my car's sprayjob was done by them Ive also seen the cars they touched up as well color reproduction very good and so is their workmanship.

all my cars painted there
1.e30
2.e36
3.porsche

p/s who can give u a 3 year warranty for the paint job if u do a colour change

Thank you for your feedback, that was quick. :)
when you said color reproduction very good, what do you mean ah? does that mean the newly spray portion wont differ a lot from the rest of the body?

very close, unless you car is a new car...as you know old car the paint may have faded over the years so of cause there will be some slight variation in the beginning but after a few months it will just blend in with the old paint.

That will depend on 1)what color is on your car 2) how old is your current paint work.

If your car's color is some special mixed, then it will be tough for them to get the correct mixture. IF its ori then its straight forward and item 2) will the only issue.

I also did some touch ups on one of my cars, and since I had the previous formula and the paintwork was still good, I myself cant tell the difference :)

Good Luck :)

thank you all. i think i will go ahead with it. shall report back the results. but i think i wont be able to tell any difference :7:
oh btw, my apologies to the administrator. i think i posted this thread in the wrong section ... anybody have any idea how to move the thread to the right section :questionmark: so sorry...

I drive a e90 2005 sparkling graphite. I scraped the side of my door / skirting last weekend (yes i was drinking)....

My workshop guy looked at the Sparkling Graphite and informed me right away that getting the exact color code is less likely to blend then mixing it himself. He assured me 98% chance of color match by MIXING himself to match the cars 2 year old color, which has slightly changed from original.

Also included in this job was a slight touch up to the front bumper (underside) which he reheated and molded back into shape before touching up with mixed color. I think after a couple of weeks, the slight variation will wear off, and color will be even closer matched.

Total Cost - RM 300-00.

Cheers.

bumper i'm not too worried. it's the door, coz it is a big chunk on the body. if the colour is not closed to the original on other parts (for example the passenger door), i rather not paint it ! I think tomorrow i will ask keong how is he going to make sure the colour wont run far. then i think i will be more comfortable to proceed.
btw, can share where's the workshop you did that? for record keeping maybe. you can PM me if you not comfortable posting the name here ...
