Opinion needed about hard thump

Hi y'all, My e34 525 (A) makes a hard jolt/thump/clunk when engaged in reverse gear. Forward gears shift as normal. My mech says (after inspection) the problem isnt the coupling, but is actually the bushing around the rear axels. Any other possibilities? Just want to get a second opinion. Anyone's opinion/help would be greatly appreciated.

Try to change the rubber mounting in circle.., pls refer to diagram below:
