CD700??? thought saw somewhere in one of the local forum for sale not sure with the changer or not. Let me try to search for it

The recent ones they have only have CD/MP3 facility...have not come across nakamichi head units with USB output.

I saw some units available for sale at PJ....Please call Lily Yap @ 0379558578 from GS Accessories...Old timer established acc shop in Jalan 222...infront of Krishna curry house

nakamichi CD700 player will look nice and right for the car. and of course sound suitably high-end. seriously wanted to buy this but finally decided not to. too many stories about reliability issue and these days, i'd much rather ipod or at least mp3 capable. just don't feel like swapping CDs into changer anymore. if look and brand the most important, definitely still the one to get. for convenience and practicality might want to consider others. there are suitbly high quality players that do amber display and don't light up like christmas tree but maybe also already discontinued. sound quality i would think is secondary. can get more from speakers and others in the chain.

curious what you've got planned for your audio set up... hopefully install will look stock as how bmw/alpina delivered factory e30 to customers, i.e. no tweeters stuck on pillars or sitting on dash and no visible sub and amp in trunk :)
 
Nakamichi...kinda rare these days i suppose...my e30 have Nakamichi speakers...fitted in the 90s by the prev owner...not the best but quite decent but well, i am not ICE pro :)
 
my E30 also have nakamichi head unit (cassete with CD changer)...fitted by previous owner who's stay near Jalan 222...

another good news today. i finally had the chance to meet my friendly neighbourhood accessory-shop guy. he agreed that wiring will be laid out for headunit, 2 amplifiers, front components, rear shelf speakers and an enclosed sub. he'll bring all the necessary cables to Optimum either thursday or friday. best of all the guy said i won't have to pay him for that 'house-call'; it'll be included in the bill when i come for the hardware, which could easily be 2 months from now.
 
Bro that is the way to go - good luck on your journey. saw it at Jas/ Foo's beaming red its geougeous cant waitto see end product.
Btw where are you sourcing your dash from?
