which is a better fill - usual manual gearbox oil or dexron III atf fluid?i know bmw recommends atf fill for colder climates but i feel atf is too thinhere in our climate.thoughts?

better fill bmw recommeded oil specifications

there must be a reason why newer getrag boxes use atf oils....

i use redline MTL now.. before that i was using the ATF type.. okay but a bit rough.. MTL is much smoother and refined.

the way you drive, you need more then the protection of the redline MTLs.....:p

maybe other e36,e34 manual box drivers can chip in their views if they have changed/upgraded gearbox oil....

i can't give any feedback yet, still a newbie at this.....

i'm using Royal Purple's Max gear..75w90 oil i believe..also using it for differential... so far so good...:)

Me using BMW M3 gearbox oil. Bought from Calvin Tan at RM700 per 4 liter!!! Sigh....

Sorry to hijack a bit. So, Manual gear oil=diff/axle oil la? If like that, easy la to find axle/diff oil.
