Taken from Bentley:The automatic transmission installed in the 3 series are filled with a number of different transmission fluids. Eash Transmission should have a coloured label on the ATF sump identifying the fluid type installed.ATF Fluid Type Labels- Orange ------Dexron III- Yellow ------Texaco ETL 7045E (BMW 83 22 0 026 922)- Green ------Texaco ETL 8072B (BMW 83 22 0 024 359)- Blue ------ Esso 71141 LT (BMW 83 2 29 407 807)Caution:- Only Re-fill or top off using ATF Fluid Speicified for the transmission. Mixing or adding incorrect ATF Fluids will lead to transmission damage.
 
Sorry this maybe a little late. So is that what that green label sticking on my ATF sump means.

I thought 3 series from 97 onwards used SLF?? Are these the same?
 
i was told most of our malaysian e46 are with Green Label.

that means using - Green ------Texaco ETL 8072B (BMW 83 22 0 024 359)

any sifu can help out??
