Hi folksI'm just curious, Is it possible for the bmw's speedometer/odometer to be tampered?. Like turning back the odometer to show the car is not high mileage for sale purpose. Please high enlighten me because I'm worried when I bought my 2000 523i UK import with only 44k miles. But the car is in very good condition almost brand new look and performance.

My mother did adviced me before, anything made by human can be changed/made again by human. The only thing you can't change/made again, the one that created by god

Well said my friend...very true statement..

For e46 there is a tamper dot next to the mileage reading but i think that too can be adjusted.

Yes its miles ie X1.62 to km. So far I didnt find any sign of tampering and Ive used the car for 3 months already with only oil, powersteering hose and spark plug change. So far Im very happy with it.
