Hi all sifus,I am a newbie in this forum and have never owned a BMW before. Wanting to put a down payment on a 1995 525A E34. Couple of questions.a) Asking price is 42K, is this reasonable?b) what is the most convenient way to do the jpj transfer? Is it safe to pay the seller before the JPJ transfer is done? c) understand that car has been fixed by selvam in old town pj. anyone can give me his contact number so that i can talk to him about the car.d) How do i check that there are no encumberances on the car or any outstanding summonses on the car? ( having problems using the jpj website - tells me i am accessing from an unknown link )e) since i have never owned a bmw before, what can i expect?

bro,all i wanna say is that u made the rite choice in selecting the E34 for ur first UDM...good luck n hope to meet ya at one of the TTs

Is this unit a dark blue one, with 15" rims (that looks like those found on recond e39), black leather interior? the car registered under Sime Darby?

If it is, and memory serves me correctly, then it may be the one I test drove before about 2 months back prior to getting my e34. I found that the exhaust to be quite loud and boomy, and the car does not accelerate very well, poor throttle response. the guy said it was due to a faulty timing sensor. paint work also does not seem too good, and the car needs a good cleanup.

Just my two cents. asking price does seem attractive tho.

Buying e34 advice

Hi all,

Decided to buy the car after a bit of wrangling on the price. Car is registered to DMIB , dark blue and the exhaust does sound a bit boomy. Not sure if this is expected for this car. If not, then i wonder what i can do about it. Planning to just drive it for a while and see if i will get use to it.

Wonder if it is the same car that fandango test drove. Guy selling it was an indian mechanic at PJ old town (selvan actually). Tendered the car from DMIB. Do you remember the rego of the unit that was test driven?

Condition of the car seems ok and body seems ok (to me anyway). As far as acceleration goes, well, all i can say is that it is better than the 520 that i have test driven. Actually decided on the 525 after testing a few units of 520.

Thanks for all the advice.
